I am delighted to see CareQuest brilliant idea taking shape.
This will reduce the huge administrative burden on securing the right care packages for people and enable much better planning so that there is no hold up for a person ready to leave hospital and get back to their own home or settle into a care home.
I think it will also help the focus on good quality care, and also enable the general public to be better informed and have more choice when selecting their own care homes and care packages.
I have championed this innovation with the department of Health and our local hospital and am optimistic that it will provide a substantial contribution to some of the most stubborn challenges the NHS faces and most importantly, a better and more timely service for patients and those in need of social care.
